Cole and I really enjoy Boston. If (and that's a big "if") we ever had to move to a big city, this would be it. Boston is beautiful, has so much history, and has amazing sports teams (although my in-laws would beg to differ).
Having been to Boston so many times, with and without each other, we've seen a lot of this city: Fenway Park, the North End, Quincy Market, Newbury Street, the duck tours, Boston Common, Chinatown, and Top of the Hub, to name a few. While looking for new and different things to do under "Nightlife in Boston" on TripAdvisor, I came across Frost Ice Loft. After reading about it, and buying tickets a few weeks in advance, we couldn't wait to go!
The ice bar is furnished with tables, chairs, and couches made of ice. Ice sculptures surround the 12 degree bar. To keep you warm, you're given an insulated cape and gloves upon entry. To warm you up even more, the bartenders serve up a variety of beer, wine, and liquor to their guests (with a three drink max). You have the option of ice frosted glasses, or glasses made of ice for an additional fee; we opted for regular glasses.
Most guests stay no longer than 45 minutes in the bar, though Cole wanted to exceed this. But despite an opening round of fireball shots and a cosmo, I couldn't keep warm. Another pair even gave us their gloves, after lasting in the bar about 20 minutes. With my toes starting to go numb, we left the bar after about 40 minutes.
