Day 26: A Midnight Showing in Pajamas

Ellaine and I love movies. We have gone with everything from silly to romantic to the occasional action flick (for me). With our previous plans rained out for the day, we decided that we would do another movie first; we went to a midnight showing (well, 10pm showing) in our PJs.

Near Ellaine's 31st birthday, Ellaine had a "big surprise" in store for me, even though it was her birthday. She told me where we were to eat that night and after some delicious wings, we went and watched the Lego Movie. We cracked up the entire time and still remember the night fondly.

So last night, we worked to recreate some of that magic and decided that a movie out would be exciting. Mirroring the past, Ellaine read the reviews and had a winner picked out for us in The Secret Life of Pets. We were immediately laughing when the main pooch watched his owner leave and sat down right in front of the door with an, "I miss her so much." We're pretty sure this is exactly what Mini does every day.

The rest of the movie was lighthearted and largely brainless. It was good to relax and have my best friend with me. We were hoping that this would be a first where we could be the only ones in a movie theater (so that we could call it our own private screening), but alas, it was not in the cards.  While not able to stand on the same level as our beloved Lego Movie, we enjoyed sharing our theater with the two other couples.
